About Ronnie Wright

I was born in a tiny village called Njala in Sierra Leone (Africa) way back in 77. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Loughborough University in Industrial Design & Technology and tried to make a career of it but realised pretty quickly that my strengths lay else where. In short, I couldn't get a job as an Industrial Designer.

Before finding my way to web design I was a salesman, gardener, brick layer, print designer & musician. I'm self taught (I think it's the best way) and I've been doing web design now for about 9 years and I'm getting comfortable with it - so much so that I can make a freelance career out of it. Designing isn't work for me, it's a passion and so I'm always looking to better my work rather than finding ways to finish it.

My clients have ranged from Tesco's, Phillips, 3 Mobile to Startups and the guy around the corner - I'm infatuated with helping others grow their ideas from seed to something that they can be proud of and make a good living. I've been completely engrossed in the web Startup world since 2007 and have been working non-stop to create and launch my own brands like my fashion label Kamara, gift search engine TicaToca and Cazooba. TicaToca has seen an online growth from 250 to 34,000 unique visitors per month all generated from £0 spend in 1 year since launch in August 2009. How I did it is another story but the viral marketing techniques and skills I've learnt first hand have also helped some of my clients.

I'll finish off by saying thanks for stopping by and checking out my web home, if you've got a web project that needs doing feel free to get in touch and we can knock heads to conjure up something that'll make people talk about you, your brand and business.

While helping a telecommunications company develop a software product, I directed a team on which Ronnie was the lead design creative, user interface, and managed a variety of contributors in their delivery of work. Ronnie can work as an individual contributor or a team leader equally well. I'll definitely try to include Ronnie on future projects, and recommend him, particularly if you have a small high growth online area, that needs alot of creative and UI design and development leadership.

TicaToca Founder

TicaToca is one of my startups launched in August 2009. It's been a bit of hit with the web crowd clocking up over 94,000 visitors and 430,000 + pageviews in 1 year. TicaToca is a weblog that showcases 1 unique (hand-picked) gift per day for people to buy online. These gifts aren't your run of the mill highstreet titter-tatter, each has a story to tell and browsers can vote on their favourite gifts which is then compiled into a Top 20 gift showdown list. It's built with PHP and has a nifty backend that feeds one new gift a day even if I'm not by a computer. It's online popularity has shown that there's room for growth and so in late 2010 I'll be launching TicaToca v3 with all of its bells and whistles jangling for all to play with.

Kamara Clothing Founder

I created Kamara Clothing way back in 2007 because I had an itch that needed scratching. Not the sort of itch that needs medical attention (cough!) but a creative itch to expand my branding knowledge and experience in a new market. I set myself a simple task, can I create a brand that people would buy into and part with their cash to own a garment created by my hand. My journey led me to Camden (London) where I owned a store and had celebrities like Johnny Borrell of UK band Razorlight, Pete (aka Torretts winner of Big Brother), Shannon Elizabeth and more popping into the store and wearing Kamara Clothing at prominent red carpet moments.

Kamara turned out to be a brilliant experience and I made some dosh out of it (not a lot) but enough for me to realise that I had accomplished my task and that it had legs. Kamara has now got some investor interest and I'm in the process of bringing out a new line of clothes accompanied by a brand spanking new website. In case you were wondering, Kamara is my mother's maiden name.
